Tonight, I noticed that an older blog I wrote had been getting a lot of attention every month. What was the big deal? Maybe “Live Lessons From A Hermit Crab” just grabbed your attention as you were looking for information on crustaceans, or you were looking up the subject of shells and stumbled upon this blog, whatever the reason- I hope you enjoyed the story.
My last post called “My Unwise Choice” kind of connects with the hermit crab story in an interesting sort of way because:
We need help in making choices in life.
We need wisdom in making the best ones amidst all of the voices.
No man can give us what God can when we come to him like a child in need.
Wherever you are reading this blog from in your corner of the world, you may have heard we have a presidential election coming up in a few weeks. I’m sure there are many countries watching it closely. Maybe some of you wish you had the freedom to choose your leaders like we do. It’s grieving to admit to you that a lot of Americans will not exercise their privilege to vote. I don’t know how to explain that one. There are lots of voices talking to us right now through the media- maybe they think the winner has already been decided. Or maybe our citizens have enjoyed freedom for so long that they don’t understand what it’s like to walk in your shoes. Please pray for us.
- Please pray that this country will be grateful again for the gift of living as “One nation under God.”
- Please pray that this nation will be a people that will humbly seek God for wisdom as they press the buttons at the voting booth.
- Please pray that people will sacrifice their comforts for 15 minutes, go to the polls, and speak up.
I covet your prayers for us.
We are in need of them.
Thank you for going before the throne of God for us…
…”if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
